Alternate Media
Alternate media provides individuals access to print material through different methods. Eligibility for this accommodation is determined on an individualized basis, and students must be able to demonstrate a substantial disability, which requires the receipt of texts within an alternate format.
Alternate media must be requested through MyAccess. Proof of purchase must be provided before access to the requested material is given. You may show proof of purchase in the following ways:
- Digital purchase/rental receipt
- Scan/copy of physical purchase/rental receipt
Once proof of purchase has been provided, a Google Drive link will be sent to you with access to your requested text.
Notetaking
Students who are approved for notetaking accommodations have a number of options for how to receive their accommodations. The CSDTech Team will meet with the student to provide the necessary materials as well as training to help the student succeed in adopting their new notetaking strategy and ongoing support throughout the semester.
Exams
Students who are approved to use a reader for exams have the option of using text-to-speech software to read their exams aloud for them. All of our testing computers are equipped with Read and Write, a toolbar that students can use to read their exams aloud.
