The Center for Students with Disabilities encourages early transition planning and welcomes the opportunity to meet with prospective students who are interested in applying to the University of Connecticut. If you are visiting the University and would like to meet with a professional staff member of the Center please call ahead (860-486-2020) to schedule an appointment. During this meeting, prospective students and their family members will have the opportunity to discuss the transition process including but not limited to:
- Applying to the University
- CSD’s Documentation Requirements
- Requesting Accommodations through CSD
- CSD’s Academic Support Programs
- Housing Considerations
- Other University Resources
During your visit with a CSD professional staff member, prospective students may submit copies of any medical documentation, evaluations, 504 Plan and/or IEP which provides information regarding the disability. The professional staff member will briefly review this information and suggest possible accommodations in the event the student is accepted to the University and chooses to enroll.
**Please note that accommodations are not approved during this meeting. Rather, general information regarding possible accommodations is discussed in order to assist students with their college search and decision-making process.
