Helping Your Student with Disabilities Prepare for the Future

“Planning is important for any teen on their way to college – but for those with disabilities, it’s absolutely imperative”, said Joseph Madaus, Professor of Education, Director of the Center on Postsecondary Education and Disability, and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the University of Connecticut. In a UConn Today article titled, “Helping Your Student with Disabilities Prepare for the Future,” Professor Madaus explained how he has worked with many students with disabilities transitioning to college, and shared how the most successful students could attribute their success to preparation.
